self expression through the divine quest to seek higher consciousness. 

sesenmoon was created in 2017 as a temple to document my journey, evolution and ascension back to self — through a holistic lifestyle, healing, independent study, culture, creation, yoga, art, words, and spirituality.

the meaning of the african word sesen is to wish for more— it is what the ancient kemites called the lotus symbol.

As an artist, designer, new mama, and maker — I have set out to slowly refine and give life to a collection of timeless essentials created in small batches for both the temple and the nest. 

Inspired by the countless muses I have met, interviewed, worked and lived with over the last many moons, and pulling deep from my childhood reveries and rites of passage, each collection celebrates self love, transformation and ritual.

In a world filled with instant gratification, I have dedicated myself to slowing down the process of making, using and doing, returning my attention towards consciously collecting, reusing, and finding more peace, health and happiness in daily life.

What began as an art project in 2019 to document my personal sankofa post-motherhood, evolved and took form as ATUM, a collection of sacred tools for the modern ancient on their daily walk towards knowledge of self. Created by hand around the phases of the moon for the divine feminine in all of us — around whom we heal, ascend and create life.

The atum almanac is a metaphysical lunisolar scroll that explores the elements, cosmic events, timeless truths, dreams and inner space that make our existence divine.

It began manifesting after a conversation with an elder about the best time to go fishing, have surgery, and plant crops. I quickly realized we were both talking about moon phases and zodiac days and that there was a disconnect in this information being passed down to my generation for regular use. It became my mission to create a modern almanac—combining the traditional information with ancient knowledge, seasons, and spirituality as they all relate to the sky above and affect our daily lives below.

This is an on going project.
As I continue to study, more pieces come forth.

  • The Lotus Cards for Inner Space Deck contains 54 cards.

    The cards within each suit channel the elements of ether, air, fire, water, and earth — the lunar phases and cycles of rebirth — the power of the zodiac and their planetary rulers — the energy centers of self, sacred geometry, gemstones and minerals — the gateways of sacred healing and their ancient ntru.

    The first edition is no longer available for purchase — the second edition contains corrections to misprints from the first edition and features a gilt golden edge and the addition of the tarot alignments. This is the classic deck.
